How To Renew Bumper Bars and Rubber On Cars

A very simple way to make your car look better prior to trying to sell your car in Brisbane is to make the bumper bar plastic and various rubbers on your car gleam.

It amazes me how many people try and sell their cars when they clearly haven’t been detailed or even cleaned before trying to sell.

Bumper bars often get quite damaged from the sun.

They can also absorb a lot of the impurities from every day life as a car including a build up of traffic/road scum and also the residue left over form various cleaning agents.

All you need to buy in the first instance to make your rubbers and plastics look like new is some methylated spirits, some grease and wax remove and some silicon spray.

Wipe down your car’s plastics and bumpers with a bit of methylated spirits and some elbow grease.

Maybe do this a few times after it has dried the first time.

Then run over the areas with wax and grease remover as per the instructions on the can.

Once dried again, spray a genrous amount of silicone spray into a clean cloth and wipe down the affected areas liberally.

See the photo.

I did this in 5 minutes on the bumper bar of a Honda CRV that was looking a bit worse for wear.

Now it has come up just like new!

You can buy wax and grease remover and silicone spray from any automotive store including Repco, Autobarn and Supercheap Auto.

I have a heap of advice on how to best clean your car for a better sell your car fast result.
